Starting the engine: 1st gear

0
I hear the screaming engine over the radio while its playing, Courageous by Casting Crowns. Getting that car above 4 thousand RPMs makes it sound like a lion going for the kill. How I love that sound… It seems so natural to go into 2nd gear. I must write about the first! FIRST! So here we are! 1st gear. I’ve learned so much that I’d like to share with you.

These series of blog post’s are a combination of me sharing my heart and my experiences. Lets dig in, The most important is Love. If we have not love we are like a resounding gong or clanging cymbal. (1 Cor 13) We are nothing without Love. Guy’s we must go out and love people in Love. Caring about the whole person, not just going out and healing to get another notch on your bible. We must go out caring about the person aligning with Christ to see them completely restored and when you have the mind of Christ, as his holy spirit is living in you that becomes easier. Not only do you know who you are but what people say has no impact because you don’t get your approval from them, (Person your laying hands on or ministering to) You get your approval from the one who says, this is my son/daughter whom I am well pleased (Mark 1:11)

Healing is from the cross, Jesus is the core of all of it. He is the reason we do what we do. The cross is the only way we are forgiven and the only way we are enabled to go out and do just as he did and more. I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. (John 14:12)

We are commanded by Christ to go out and lay hands on the sick. Matthew 10, Mark 16:18 When I go out, I do not put any pressure on the person I’m laying hands on, I just ask them what hurts, lay hands in the name of Jesus and told them Jesus did that because he loves them when the pain leaves. (I call them drive-by’s) Sometimes in the spirit; as you will reap what you don’t sow. You realize they are ready to enter into a relationship with Christ. Don’t feel pressured to get them saved, just love them as Jesus did. When Jesus healed people he never once said, “OK you ready to say the sinners prayer now?”

Lets say you lay hands on someone and something does happen? (If nothing does happen you are not failing, if you going out in love) We praise God. Amen

Now, lets say you see nothing manifest right then and there. Did you fail? Did God fail? These questions will pop in your mind long before you lay hands on anyone. Plain and simple, No. 1 Corinthians 13, Love never fails. If you go in love, they have not only seen a person who talks about Jesus but a person who cares enough to stop and enter into their world and ask, “Hey how are you? What happened to your leg?” On top of that the scriptures talk about people getting healed as they left, or in that hour. Maybe it will be the next day! They will remember that someone who cared stopped to interact with them. I personally love it when nothing happens. Then a couple weeks later hearing about how they got restored. That is awesome. This Strengthens my faith because I believed God in what he said he was going to do.

So how do you respond to what happened if you don’t see anything manifest? DO NOT under any circumstances tell them it didn’t work, if you do your ripping the seed right out of what you put into them, because again, we are walking by faith not by sight 2nd Corinthians 5:7. Tell them that it is an honor laying hands on them, that you are “expecting God to do something big and that when you wake up tomorrow or get in your car and you feel the pain gone, remember the name of Jesus”

When nothing happens,  I don’t judge the person i’m laying hands on because when it boils down to it, It has nothing to do with their faith, but it has everything to do with the person who is laying on hands faith. What I mean by that is, A decision you make before you go out is “God will you heal the people I lay hands on?(Find this answer in the scriptures, i’ll talk about it as blog posts surface (MARK 16:18) Because I can’t do it, You are the healer God”. Its a Yes or no question, The truth is Yes, but will your mind agree and heart agree with it no matter what your eyes see. Its not how much faith you have, that can become an excuse and a temptation to stay behind closed doors, Again Its a choice you make. I’ll be honest with you, When I go out, the question “Do I have enough faith” doesn’t even come into my mind, because I know the will of God, I know who I am and as a Christian you are called to do this too. This is a normal Christian’s life. Right now however it isn’t “Normal” because of the deceptions of Satan on the church. I see miracles almost everyday, They are awesome, but physical healing isn’t the core, Jesus is. If healing was removed from the gospel. I’d still have this incredible deepening relationship with Christ. (This isn’t charismatic, this is the exponential gospel)

Now when we go out on the streets or in our lives who are we representing? Christ right? So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” NLT 2 Cor 5:20 If nothing happens, (I don’t go to the person laying hands thinking this) It has nothing to do with them, It is God’s will to completely restore them just as he restored the people of Israel time and time again in Exodus. Let me say again, It is God’s will to completely restore the whole man and the whole woman, Spiritually and physically. This makes things much easier, knowing its God’s will. Now, everyone is the harvest, not just some people.

I know i’m talking about “what if nothing happens” but until I knew that the word of God was absolute truth, above the worlds wisdom, those questions made me freeze and unable to step out.

Sickness is from Satan, I think we can come to the agreement that sickness, mames, steals, kills and destroys. I treat Sickness just like Sin because it is a direct connection to Sin because it has Satan’s name all over it, John 10:10. A great example is Isaiah 33 the past part when it says,

Instead, you will see Zion as a place of holy festivals.
You will see Jerusalem, a city quiet and secure.
It will be like a tent whose ropes are taut
and whose stakes are firmly fixed.
21 The Lord will be our Mighty One.
He will be like a wide river of protection
that no enemy can cross,
that no enemy ship can sail upon.
22 For the Lord is our judge,
our lawgiver, and our king.
He will care for us and save us.
23 The enemies’ sails hang loose
on broken masts with useless tackle.
Their treasure will be divided by the people of God.
Even the lame will take their share!
24 The people of Israel will no longer say,
“We are sick and helpless,”
for the Lord will forgive their sins. NLT

No one will say, We are sick FOR the Lord has forgiven them of their sins. WOW. Amen…

I love when God shows his stuff but when we lay hands it is not to show off God’s power like he’s a monkey, call these challenges. I’m in this to build the kingdom of God and show you just how much he(Jesus) loves you, as do I.  God loves to show his glory and his glory is Love. (John 5:41-42) So that means when you love someone you’d want to do things for them, like restore them completely both now and later. icon smile Starting the engine: 1st gear

Walking in the full gospel is designed to be a lifestyle, its not something you will be able to turn on and off. That’s cool because Jesus is the real star, You and I just are his hype men/women.
On a update from 2 weeks ago, I have a group of people whom I go out with and pray for people with, Prayer answered thank you JESUS!

Clutch in, 2nd gear, windows down, wind through my fingers, Hits the gas… Jesus win. Stay tuned for shifting to 2nd gear.

Starting the engine

1

I first write this blog post with a smile because i’m being led to write it. I have realized that what I’m about to write is not for universal audiences, its for a targeted audience. I know that I will step on toes from a doctrine standpoint, but I must preach the gospel just as Jesus did as he has called me to do. Here’s an analogy

I feel in my heart that i’ve been giving the keys to a car that has been in my garage the whole time. Black leather seats, Crimson red paint, 450HP v8. If i had to describe it, Its a corvette grand sport. I had no idea I had been given this car by the most high, Being honest i’m afraid to start it. I know what a corvette sounds like, its incredible I’ve been driving my little eco car and have loved it! but yet, this car is so much better and I cannot ignore it anymore… I’ve put the key in a few times but, since I don’t have many people around me to sit in the passenger seat and teach me how to drive it stepping out, pushing the clutch in and turning the key is my biggest fear. Soon however i’m connecting with a couple of people who have been in that car and drive it everyday!

I’m still seeing this ministry encouraging others, which is what i’m going to continue to do… Encourage you. A man plans his ways and the Lord determines his steps right??? (Proverbs 16:9) The vehicle i’m about to start driving is the full blown gospel, destroying the works of the devil, laying hands on the sick. Bringing others to Christ in Jesus name and for his glory.

Its healing. Many more things i’m learning as well but, the biggest in the last 3 months is healing. I was astounded by it when I first got into a relationship with the most high, but a wise man told me that I need to concentrate on my relationship with God first so that I’m not deceived. With Good reason, I’m so blessed to have waited and have the understanding that the holy spirit lives inside me, that I am holy and righteous in his sight, not because I have deserved it, because I have not. I deserve to be eternally separated from my daddy. Thankfully he sent his son to say “I love you” and “I want you to know me” and “I want to know you and your time” Now, The Lord has brought this to my forefront, I’ve turned my back on it 3 times. I cannot anymore because it is part of his Name in “I AM” as healer.

Knowing that the one who made me loves me for who I am fully human and fully his is incredible I am fully forgiven and he sees me as righteous in his sight, I’m beginning to see myself in my sight towards him that way as well. Just a quick sentence on my background, I grew up in a broken abusive home with an earthly father who didn’t mirror my heavenly one. Knowing that he might be reading this, I love him. I’ve forgiven him and our relationship is building. I hope we get to open the word together someday. (tears wiped and continuing)

I’ve seen many things happen on youtube(people getting healed), in the word of God and many peoples responses to it are. “That happened in the biblical times but not now” Even though there is nothing in the Word of God that says these signs and wonders that follow those who believe (Mark 16:17) have stopped

In fact, Matthew 10:8 it says “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” I must say If we are continuing to freely receive we must be continuing to be freely give.

Mark 16:18 they(believers) will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

Why am I not laying hands!? If you nodded I completely agree.

What ever your background is on healing, supernatural. It is the power of God, always has been. Paul said something incredible many parts of the new Testement. 1 Thessalonians 1:5, 1 John 3:18, 1 Corinthians 4:20, all through acts, “For the kingdom of God isn’t of mere words but a demonstration of Gods power.

Searching my heart in this i’ve found there are many things I have adopted of the church that are not of God. This is for another blog post because for me, dealing with about 15 of them its a big deal and a long conversation.

The greatest of these is love. (Corinthians 13) We cannot walk in the full gospel until we walk in Love. As God is love hey! Things just get done. This blog post is the beginning of pouring my heart out in what I learning as a Christian what it means to be blown by the spirit (John 3:8)

Simply has the mandate of Matthew 10 changed today? What does it say? READ UP!

I look foreword to updating you on what God is doing and I hope to encourage you to do the same in the near future.

Blessings in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord,
-Jimi

Valentines day

0
Valentines day is a hard day for many people, culturally its a day that puts couples on the front lines, and if you don’t have one, your seen as “Not of this world”  Its a day, many cry a little more, are sad a little more, shed a couple more tears, or are a little more “Lonely”

I personally want to challenge this, I was there too, I’ve let 4 valentines days pass by in faith that God would send a woman that I would be able to pursue, love as Christ loves the church and share my life with. She is worth the wait, if your a woman, your worth the wait as well. There is an incredible romance with Jesus Christ, for the guy’s that may seem weird, It is at first, but to have the man who made romance teach you how to love your wife before you even meet her is the most incredible adventure to be part of. To the woman, I don’t know what a romance with Jesus is like for you, I’ll let you know when I ask her! icon smile Valentines day

Another valentines day is about to pass by, that’s ok, because as I am encouraged to live as one who is “Not of this world, but chosen out of the world” -John 15:19 I encourage you to do the same in a world of “Hook up, Shack up and break up”

Look in your bubble of people, can you find someone who is lonely as well? Can you find someone who needs that Love only Jesus can give? This day may be about love, but its a different love than the world knows. Its Agapae Love. (Sacrificial) Jesus will offer that love through you if you let him. Come out of your comfort zone!

Peace be with you!

I AM WHO I AM

0

Exodus 3:13
13 Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” 14 God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.[c] This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”

God is the great I AM. When the words in the bible are used, “THE LORD” It is defined as Yahweh in translation which means “I AM” It says that many times, but for God to say he is “I am” it brings another question, “I am what?

I am the LORD GOD, (Gen. 2:4)

I am Your God. (Psalm 13:3) (Lev. 19:3)

I am the Lord your Father (Isa. 64:8).

I am the Lord, the most high God (Gen. 14:22; Psalm 7:17; Psalm 47:2).

I am the Lord God of Israel (Isa. 17:6)

I am the Lord who see’s (Gen. 22:14)

I am the Lord your sanctifier (Ex. 31:13)

I am the Lord your miracle (Ex. 17:15)

I am the Lord your maker (Ps. 95:6)

I am the Lord of hosts. (Exo 12:41)

I am the Lord, Your shepherd (Ps. 23:1, Ez. 34:2).

I am the Lord who Heals you (Ex. 15:26).

I am the Lord of Peace (Judges 6:24)

I am the LORD your Rock and your redeemer (Psalm 19:14)

I am CHRIST (Matthew 22:42)

I am Comforter (John 14:26(kjv))

I am deliverer (Romans 11:26)

I am HOPE (Titus 2:13)

I am Holy Spirit (John 15:26)

I am son of God (Matthew 27:54)

I am Vine (John 15:5)

I am the WORD (John 1:1)

Granted, there are many other names, I’d love to hear them! Lets share in the comments below! What name of “I AM” has he had in your life recently, Personally, Its been “I am The Lord, your provider” while in patience of what he has planned, he has provided everything.

Lets sum this up. I have come to the conclusion of why God says I am what I am Its because he is what his people need. Everything they need. By God saying he is “I am” he is saying he is not confined to past or present nor the future, he will always be and has always been. Try to wrap your head around that!

Blessings in the name of our Lord and savior JESUS CHRIST

New year!

0

Well its a new year! As always God is new and fresh no matter what time of the year. His gospel is the same, “Only through faith in Jesus Christ can we be saved” PP Romans 3:22

Let us start with scripture!

13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

When I thought of God doing something impossible before, I thought of him just doing it with me watching. Like a show, performance. Recently during some prayer time. I found our God not only declares his glory but, teaches his children to walk in his way. (Prov. 28:26)

So, now when I think of God doing the impossible I think of him using his hands and feet (AKA, You, me and his children) to carry out his plan of doing the impossible.

When God uses his children it accomplishes many things. 1. It strengthens the faith of believers. 2. It brings others who are skeptical and unbelievers to the foot of the cross with the hope that their faith would be grounded in good soil and 3. It gives him all the glory

So now, I hear God saying, “I’m about to do something that seems impossible to this world! Would you like to join me?”

Join him in the most incredible relationship Jesus desires to have with you.

Be intentional.

0

For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel–not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. 1 Corinthians 1:17

Does this hit you like it hits me? Words of human wisdom empty God’s power. When we choose to speak if we are not intentionally choosing to speak from God’s wisdom by saying much or little, We are in danger of emptying the Jesus right out of people.

Be intentional specifically when its about Christ and his children.

Being Your Best Friend

3

I have a friend, that shared with me their heart. They told me that they have a heart of one who has been abused but has never been. “What does this mean?” I asked God.

God gave me an answer. We can only forgive ourselves when God has forgiven us. God has forgiven them, but they have yet to forgive themselves. There is blame inside of their heart that they have taken the punishment for. There is something/many things they have started agreeing with that Satan whispered in the ear of their heart. God seeks to break that agreement, renounce it so those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

We can be our worst enemy. We really are… Our… Worst… Enemy. We have a sinful nature that works against us and Satan who works with our sinful nature works to push us to destruction. I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. Romans 7:15

There are many times in my life, where I’ve left things unresolved. “Pushed them under the rug.” Those things become footholds for Satan. Look at your life as a big wall… Smooth, beautiful, without a ladder this wall cannot be climbed. You and God are the only ones with the ladder. When we leave things unforgiven in our own lives, unresolved they will cause more damage unless we seek to ask God to fix them. When we fail to resolve; Think of it as us climbing on our ladder with a hammer claw side foreword making holes in our wall. (Hince footholds) and do not give the devil a foothold. Ephesians 4:27 When we go to God however, renounce the agreements and trade them for his truth, he rebuilds the wall patches it like broken drywall. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10 We MUST choose to believe in the truth and not the lies.

The voices inside your head are not always your own. Do you understand what i’m saying? We always seem to think that the whispers inside our own spirit’s are our own but some are and some are not. Why do you think Paul says, We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2nd Corinthians 10:5. This personally tells me that at our first thought our first reaction, Isn’t always God obedient. When facing temptation, we don’t always fight against it, but many times help it grow. Friends if you keep feeding discouragement It will grow out of control.

This is called spiritual warfare: If you aren’t aware, You are in the middle of a battle zone, An excellent resource on learning about spiritual warfare is HERE with Mars Hill Church.  Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Ephesians 6:11

Let us catch the faith of David here,
6And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God. 1 Samuel 30:6

What is God saying to you in this verse?

When something happens to you that causes pain, temptation, failure, we naturally want to blame someone. When we can’t find anyone we blame ourselves. Who keeps us accountable to that? Unless we allow someone in no one. I believe God desires for you to resolve this matter of your heart. Now in this, Its important to realize we are both the suspect and the victim (Because of our sinful nature).

I want you to try this for one week. Here’s your application.

Make up, comb hair, shave… We all spend time in the mirror in the morning. Sometimes, we don’t know what to say in the mirror. I’ll provide some suggestions Pick some, or all! I want you say these verses to yourself in the first person in the mirror, on the way to work, Make sure you… Yes you, Talk to yourself. icon smile Being Your Best Friend

For YOU have plans for ME, LORD, Plans not for disaster, plans for a hope and a future (Jer 29:11)
I am more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:37)
If my God is for me, Who can be against me? (Romans 8:31)
I am CONVINCED, that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate ME from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus MY Lord (Romans 8:38)
I will case all my cares on you because you care for me 1 Peter 5:7
I will guard my heart, for it is the wellspring of life Proverbs 4:23
You will never leave me, nor forsake me.  Hebrews 13:5,  Deuteronomy 31:6
I am strong, and courageous, I will not be afraid, For my God goes with me 31:6

We use the word of God for encouragement for others and ourselves because in it it holds all power, through Jesus Christ our Lord it is the ultimate encouragement, it is God’s love letter to you. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 2nd Timothy 3:16

Conclusion, We love encouragement. We love to encourage you and be encouraged however there are times in temptation and quiet times where the only person to encourage you is you. The only voice that you can hear speaking is you, God inspired. Brother, Sister, Preach it in the mirror. Become your best friend. Encouraging yourself just like David did. I will be joining this application with you.

Final question…
Can you find more verses to encourage yourself? Share them below!

Here are some verses that inspired this post:

1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

John 16:31 I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.”

Psalm 42:11 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Why?

0

Why do we do what we do? Why do we encourage? Why do we spend so much time on the people who having trouble standing their ground or the people who are standing their ground and are encouraged.

It is because you are worth it. Yes, I’m talking to you. The one looking at this page. If you are a woman, then The king is enthralled by your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord. Psalm 45 11

To the Men, You are the most excellent of men and your lips have been anointed with grace, since God has blessed you forever. Psalm 45:2

For a while the reason I encouraged to be honest was to, encourage in the faith but the continuation of that encouragement was based on the response of that encouragement. Like I was getting something out of it; expecting encouragement when I received little.
This must not be.
Then I read this, The missionary’s great essential is remaining true to the call of God, and realizing that his one and only purpose is to disciple men and women to Jesus. -Oswald Chambers
His great encourager? Listen up. Gird your sword upon your side, O mighty one; clothe yourself with splendor and majesty Psalm 45:3 (His majesty Jesus Christ)
You really never know the impact you make on people, The biggest impact may the be ones you hear about and the ones you don’t. Point is, Keep making an impact, if you do it for the Lord how many people that respond or how many people you impact doesn’t matter.

All I know is when we get to heaven and hear his “Good job well done good and faithful servant” He will show us just how much of an impact we made with the time that was given to us. Google Analytics, Facebook insights, Hootsuite analytics (The way we see how we are making an impact) will never show just in full how much of an impact we are making to the people around us. The Internet is a huge battlefield untapped… Lets tap in to it.
We are medics for the heart, encouraging you to encourage others.
Without these medics, without you? Our army would be tired, weak and not fit for battle. This is why the Lord made me and why he made you. To encourage those in battle while fighting the battles that are familiar to every Christian on earth.

Encouragement is a one way street

1
This ministry was built on with a love language of 2 aspects: the Word of God and (Words of affirmation) Gary Chapman has a great book on the 5 love languages that will change your relationships for the better.
This world is hurting, Many of God’s people are tired, hurting or just need SOMETHING to keep them going. God made encouragement for this. Understand, Encouragement is a one way street. People don’t do it to be encouraged themselves. They do it because they have been encouraged overflowing. The only response is to look for someone else to encourage.
This is why encouragement is rare, this is why you’ll find more people that will pray for you than people that will praise with you. Encouragement is one of the only actions to another person where it isn’t confused for a personal agenda.
Its my prayer that as we encourage you that you dive in the word of God more. This is where the ultimate encourager lifts you up. icon smile Encouragement is a one way street
To the people who are called to be “His great encouragers” the road is like a pastors. It’s hard. The encouragement you receive from the people you encourage is rare but, when it does happen it helps keep you going. You must have a basis of community around you to pray with you, praise with you.
I think everyone is called to encourage. Some may find they have a gift in it.
Bottom line is: Stand up, encourage someone today apart from your own personal agenda if you have one. Tell the person how they really affect the world around them in a positive way. If your not encouraged Check out our twitter and be encouraged! Then go and of course! ENCOURAGE!
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV
And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. 1 Thessalonians 5:14
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: 1 Peter 4:8-10

God’s actions

0

The past couple of weeks God has been asking me a recurring question “Do you really want to see what I can do?” As a Christian we have to be very careful the way we answer this question. Although its a simple “Yes” or “No” What happens after you say yes will rock your world if you don’t know what you are getting into. The tragedy for a Christian is to be comfortable. To love your Job is excellent, to love your church family is even better. But, if we don’t challenge ourselves/allow mentors and pastors to challenge us. We will be stalemate and Satan will have his Checkmate. I have a huge love for seeing God in action. I love miracles, signs, breath’s of life, all around God moving mountains in a day.

The Pharisees however desired to see a sign first before having faith in Jesus. (Mark 12-38-43)
Jesus wants us to awe in his wonders and signs but he FIRST wants us to have faith in him by foundation. Then he works in his Children by strengthening the faith with signs and wonders that move mountains and part many waters for the kingdom of God.
God did start with signs in the book of exodus. Although the people forgot time and time again his wonders because their foundation were not in him.
So the conclusion is, Don’t make your foundation of your faith God’s wonders and amazing works. There is a much deeper intimacy with actually trusting a God who can do something about your current situation, while at the same time carrying out his plan, hope and not disaster for you.
So, Let God ask this through me, “Do you really want to see what I can do?” – GOD  “Yes or NO”
YAY JESUS!
-Jimi
